Annette Funicello was an American actress and singer from the United States. Her most well-known role was "one of the first Mouseketeers" as part of The Mickey Mouse Club. Her singing began as a teenager and was popular for the smash song "Tall Paul" as well as "Pineapple Princess." She was born in Utica, to Italian immigrant parents, Annette was a shy child. In an effort to create her name in the entertainment business her first step was to begin dancing and play. The actress gained fame during the 1950s, when she appeared as "Mouseketeers". Annette's Disney persona faded at the age of 18 when she began playing adult roles. She is best remembered as one of the first actors to create the category of "beach parties". She appeared in such films as How to Stuff a Wild Bikini, Pajama Party, and ?Beach Party ?. In addition, she released albums of her own music occasionally. Annette was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1992.
